This Privacy Policy explains how Stronger Life After 40 (“we,” “us,” or “this site”) at https://strongerlifeafter40.com collects, uses, and shares information. It applies only to this website.
The audience we write for is in the United States and Canada. This page is not legal advice. Visitors elsewhere may have additional privacy or consent rights. This Privacy Policy does not replace any consent mechanism required by applicable law.
Who is responsible for this privacy policy
The publisher of Stronger Life After 40 is responsible for this site. For a privacy question or request, email tarun.en24@gmail.com or use the contact page.
We do not publish a street address or phone number. Please do not send medical records or other sensitive documents unless we specifically ask for something needed to finish a request you already started.
Information we collect
What you send us
- Email. If you write to us, we receive your address, the message, and whatever else you put in it.
- Comments. If comments are open, we collect what you type in the form. WordPress also stores the commenter’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help with spam. An anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to check for a profile image. Gravatar’s policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/.
- Accounts. If you ever create an account on this WordPress site, we store the profile information you provide. You do not need an account to read the articles.
What gets collected in the background
This site and its service providers may collect:
- IP address and a rough location derived from it
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, referring URL, date and time, and basic interaction data
- Cookies, pixels, or similar identifiers
That can happen when you load a page, leave a comment, or use a form. We do not ask visitors for precise GPS location.
Cookies are small files stored on your device. This site may use:
- Essential cookies the site needs to work, such as login or comment cookies if you use those features
- Analytics cookies that help us see which pages get used
- Advertising cookies if Google AdSense or another ad service is installed. Those companies may place and read cookies, use web beacons, or use IP addresses and other identifiers to serve, measure, and, where allowed, personalize ads
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Some features may stop working if you do. Browser settings are not a full substitute for a consent banner in places that legally require one.
Google services
This site currently uses Google Site Kit. Public pages load Google tag GT-K4LXF4N4. When that tag runs, Google may receive the page URL, your IP address, and cookie or device identifiers.
We may use Google AdSense to show ads in the future. AdSense is not active on public pages as of the “Last updated” date above. If it is added, Google and other ad partners may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses, to collect information as a result of ad serving.
Google explains this in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Google’s own privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not knowingly pass information to Google that Google could treat as personally identifiable, and we do not try to merge Google’s non-personal reports with information that identifies you unless we have given clear notice and obtained any consent the law requires.
Other companies that help run the site
The site runs on WordPress and may use security, spam-prevention, search, or email tools. Current site tools include:
- WordPress core and theme software
- Rank Math, which handles SEO metadata and sitemaps
- Google Site Kit, which connects Google measurement tags
If an article embeds a video, map, or other widget from somewhere else, that company may collect data as if you visited its site directly.
How we use and retain information
We use information to run the website, answer messages and privacy requests, moderate comments if they are enabled, reduce spam, understand which articles people read, show ads if ad code is installed, protect the site, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We will not turn a private email into a testimonial unless we ask you first.
Retention depends on the type of information:
- Email is kept as long as we need it to handle the request and keep a normal record.
- Comments and their metadata may stay indefinitely so later comments can be recognized.
- Analytics and advertising data follow those companies’ retention settings.
- Server and security logs stay only as long as we need them for operations and abuse prevention.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask what personal information we hold, request a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to some uses or ask us to limit them.
Send those requests to tarun.en24@gmail.com. We may need to confirm the request is from the person it concerns. We may keep information we are required to keep for security, legal, or accounting reasons.
If you are in California, you may also have rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, including rights to know, delete, and correct certain personal information and to opt out of qualifying sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. If advertising cookies later count as “sharing” for this site, we will update this privacy policy and provide any required opt-out.
Children
This site is written for adults over 40. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child sent us personal information, email us and we will review the request.
We do not use Google advertising to show personalized ads based on a user we know is under 13, or based on activity from a child-directed part of a site.
Health details
Please do not send medical records, diagnoses, or other sensitive health details. Articles about food and aging are general education. They are not a request for your health information, and they are not medical advice. See the disclaimer.
Security and where data is processed
No website is perfectly secure. We use ordinary hosting and account protections, but we cannot promise a transmission will never be intercepted.
The site and some service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. If you visit from another country, your information may be transferred there.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this privacy policy when the site, its tools, or the law changes. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. The current version is the one at this URL.
